A 16-year-old athlete from Jamaica has broken Usain Bolt's record at the 51st Carifta Games among athletes under 17.

Nickécoy Bramwell, a student at Calabar School in Kingston, achieved the remarkable feat, shattering a record that had stood for 22 years. Despite struggling with injuries in recent months, Bramwell remained optimistic about the Carifta Games.

In the end, the Jamaican secured the gold medal with an incredible time of 47.26 seconds. Additionally, the teenager surpassed Usain Bolt's championship record of 47.33 seconds, which had been set back in 2002.

"It's a wonderful feeling to break a record. Since last summer, I've been eyeing this record, so it feels great to come here and break it. I just stayed focused and concentrated on the record," stated the athlete.
