The Panathinaikos player has partial hearing loss. Fans threw firecrackers at him

Greek football club Panathinaikos defender Juancar suffered partial hearing loss as a result of an explosive device thrown at him during a 1-1 match against Olympiacos.

According to information from the in.gr portal, a firecracker was thrown at the footballer’s feet.

The incident occurred in the 50th minute of the game. At this time, the Spanish football player was warming up on the sidelines and preparing to enter the field.

After the arrival of the explosive device, the football player was stunned and lost consciousness for a short time. The match was stopped, the Panathinaikos players left the field and refused to return.

An hour later, the meeting officials made a statement that the game would not continue with the score 1:1. Juancar was taken by ambulance, where he was diagnosed with a concussion and partial hearing loss.

The footballer himself, while talking to reporters, complained of dizziness and ear pain.

Panathinaikos currently sits fourth in the Greek Super League, while Olympiacos leads the championship.
