British runner Russ Cook has completed his incredible journey across Africa. Known as the "Toughest Nut" on the internet, he spent over 350 days on the road, covering more than 16,000 kilometers on the continent. This is equivalent to 385 marathons, meaning he ran a marathon every day on average to reach the finish line.

On Sunday, the 26-year-old athlete had 40 kilometers left to run to reach the northernmost point of the continent in Tunisia. Cook was able to achieve his ultimate goal with the support of hundreds of supporters who traveled to Africa to cheer him on.

After completing his final run, he simply exclaimed on Sky News, "I'm tired. I'm a bit tired!" Cook claims to be the first person to run across the entirety of Africa, although some argue that this was already achieved in 2008.

Cook's journey began in South Africa on April 22 last year. During this time, he raised almost £700,000 for two charitable organizations: The Running Charity, which assists young people with mental health issues, and Sandblast, which introduces people to Sahara culture.

Throughout his journey, he faced numerous challenges, including being robbed in Angola and going missing in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, thanks to the efforts of his supporters and his own perseverance, he was able to continue his journey. This feat stands as one of the most remarkable achievements in sports.
