Manchester United equaled long-standing unwanted record from the Ferguson era in their FA cup match
Manchester United laboriously secured a place in the FA Cup final.
The Red Devils had a commanding 3:0 lead against Championship side Coventry, only to squander this comfortable advantage after the 70th minute, conceding three times. They ultimately scraped through to the final via a post-match penalty shootout.
Interestingly, Manchester United failed to win a match (within regulation or extra time) in which they led by a three-goal margin for the first time since May 2013. On that occasion, in Sir Alex Ferguson's final game in charge, they drew 5:5 with West Bromwich Albion.
In the FA Cup final, the Red Devils will face their fierce rivals, Manchester City. The showdown will take place at Wembley on May 25th. Manchester-based teams will face off in the final for the second consecutive year.
