One of the pivotal matches of the 27th round of the Spanish La Liga was the encounter between Valencia and Real Madrid. This match will be remembered not only for the comeback of the Madridistas with Vinicius Junior's brace and Mouctar Diakhaby's dreadful injury but also for the scandal at the end of the game.

In the second half, seven minutes of stoppage time were added, and during one of Real Madrid's attacks in the 90+9th minute, the referee of the match, Gil Manzano, blew the final whistle. After this, Jude Bellingham, jumping higher than everyone else in the penalty area, sent the ball into the net, but the referee disallowed the goal.

Following this incident, players rushed to the referee with protests, and the referee chose not to investigate further, disciplining all dissenters instead.

Jude Bellingham was one of the main instigators of the dispute, and for this, the referee showed him a red card. The competition committee will consider this episode not as insulting the referee but will be guided by Article 127, which speaks of referee protests, "as long as they do not constitute a more serious action." In this case, the player may be disqualified for a period ranging from two games to one month. That's why all players who received a red card this season missed two matches.

In turn, Vinicius Junior already had a yellow card to his name and did not want to engage in disputes with the referee. However, after the match, he gave an interview to Real Madrid TV, in which he said:

"In the end, we couldn't [win] because we weren't allowed to."

These words are very similar to those of Valencia's Luis Gayá after the match against Osasuna. At that time, the defender said, "The referee saw it, and he didn't want to blow the whistle." Such a statement was perceived by the committee as insulting the referee, and the player himself was disqualified for four matches.

In the event of a verdict against both players, Real Madrid will try to appeal it, but a change in the committee's decision is unlikely. Therefore, it can be assumed that Bellingham will miss games against Celta and Osasuna, while Vinicius will not only face these two teams but also miss matches against Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca.
