French racing driver Pierre Gasly from the Alpine team has decided to venture into the football business.

The 28-year-old athlete has officially become a co-owner of the football club Versailles, which competes in the National League (the third division in France).

Gasly will co-manage the club alongside the Mulliez family. Here is how the racing driver explained his decision:

"I have a deep passion for football and closely follow all the results. I used to play football when I was a child. In Normandy, we have clubs like Rouen, Quevilly, Le Havre, and Caen, and I used to play for Bois-Guillaume. In my childhood, I was in a team with Guy Roux at Auxerre. I have always been immersed in this world.

For some time, I have been looking for an opportunity to be part of an ambitious project, and then I met the Mulliez family."

Versailles FC currently holds the tenth position in the National League after 25 rounds.
