Former MLB player Dustan Mohr was sentenced to nine years in prison in Indiana after pleading guilty to sex crimes against a 13-year-old girl. Mohr was accused of indecent assault on his victim, whom he had been hired to teach softball lessons for several months. Mohr apologized to the victim and her family in court while in tears, according to local news outlet WANE 15. His arrest occurred in August 2023.

Superior Court Judge Fran Gall sentenced Mohr to five years in prison for each of three sex crimes, including solicitation of sexual intercourse, enticement and sexual abuse of a minor. Part of the sentence was suspended, but he will serve three years for each of those crimes and the remainder on adult probation.

Court documents indicate Mohr was hired by the victim's family to coach their daughter in softball at Strike Zone Training Center in Fort Wayne. However, he broke trust and began to manipulate the girl against her family.
