Fenerbahçe conceded a goal in the first minute and withdrew from the Turkish Super Cup match

Today, on April 7th, the Istanbul giants Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray were supposed to play in the Turkish Super Cup.

Fenerbahçe had planned to stage a protest and boycott the Turkish Super Cup match against Galatasaray. Earlier, the club had even considered the possibility of leaving the Turkish league due to the tense situation following a fierce altercation between Fenerbahçe players and Trabzonspor fans, emotions from which had not yet subsided.

Ajansspor reported that only nine players from Fenerbahçe's youth team (U19) were expected to take the field in the Super Cup match, with three of them required to leave the field during the game. This scenario would lead to the match being abandoned and the club suffering a technical defeat. Despite this, 11 players took the field, the oldest of whom was 19 years old.

The match began with a goal from Icardi in the first minute and ended just a few moments later. Fenerbahçe's coach withdrew his team from the field.

Galatasaray celebrates the victory since, according to the regulations, Fenerbahçe will be awarded a technical defeat.
