The goalkeeper from the Belgian team “Gent” Paul Nardi received a rather terrible injury during the match of the fifth round of the group stage of the Conference League against Ukrainian “Zorya”.

According to Belgian commentator Kenneth de Vlieger, the football player was diagnosed with an open leg fracture.

“A terrible injury to goalkeeper Paul Nardi. He suffered an open fracture of his leg when he kicked the ball! It was in the match in which Depoitre returned to the field after months of rehabilitation after an equally serious injury at the end of last season”, - he wrote.

The incident occurred in the middle of the second half, when the 29-year-old French goalkeeper was knocking the ball away. Suddenly, he fell and began to scream in pain, while there was no contact with other players.

The footballer was taken off the field on a stretcher and was replaced by Davi Roof. This season in the Belgian league, the French goalkeeper has played 10 matches and conceded 12 goals.

After this match, Gent advanced to the playoffs of the Conference League ahead of schedule.
