Real Madrid are considering parting ways with left-back Ferland Mendy. According to The Athletic, the club’s management are dissatisfied with the contribution of the 30-year-old defender and do not see him as a key figure for the team in the near future.
The report states that Real are looking to sell the French defender, but the situation is complicated by his current contract. At the same time, the player himself is showing no willingness to leave the club.
A major factor influencing the club’s stance remains Mendy’s persistent fitness issues. In recent years, he has been regularly sidelined by injuries, and in April he underwent surgery after rupturing his proximal tendon. Notably, Mendy has made just one club appearance this season.
