Arsenal avoided serious trouble in their fourth-round Premier League match against Sunderland thanks to David Raya. The Spanish goalkeeper saved a penalty and prevented the hosts from taking the lead at a crucial moment of the game.

Sunderland were awarded a penalty after Ezri Konsa committed a foul inside his own box. Le Fée stepped up to take it, but failed to beat Raya. The Arsenal goalkeeper guessed the direction of the shot correctly and made a crucial save to keep his side's goal intact.

Raya once again showed why he is considered one of the best penalty-saving specialists. His save proved particularly important given what happened just moments later.

Arsenal immediately launched a counter-attack and managed to open the scoring. After a rapid move forward, Bruno Guimarães found the back of Sunderland's net. It was the 28-year-old Brazilian's first goal in an Arsenal shirt.
