Messi's record is gone! Mastantuono makes Argentine history with stunning hat-trick

Franco Mastantuono has just taken a record away from Lionel Messi.

Details: The Fiorentina winger scored a hat-trick in the 4-2 Serie A victory over Venezia, becoming the youngest Argentine footballer in history to net three goals in a single match in one of Europe's top five leagues.

Mastantuono achieved the feat at the age of 19 years and 28 days. According to ESPN, he was 231 days younger than Messi when the Barcelona legend recorded the first hat-trick of his club career against Real Madrid on March 10, 2007.

The Argentine played a decisive role in Fiorentina's first league win of the season. After Venezia opened the scoring, Mastantuono struck twice in quick succession to turn the match around before completing his hat-trick in the 84th minute.

The performance was especially significant because the three goals were Mastantuono's first for Fiorentina. The 19-year-old joined the Italian club last month on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

It is worth noting that Mastantuono also became the youngest Fiorentina player to score a Serie A hat-trick and the ninth-youngest footballer to achieve the feat in the history of the Italian top flight.
