Transfer bombshell! Real Madrid to sign the world's best striker next summer?
Real Madrid appear ready to launch another blockbuster pursuit of Erling Haaland.
Details: According to journalist José Félix Díaz, Real Madrid are preparing to pursue Manchester City striker Erling Haaland next summer. The Norwegian remains one of the biggest names on the transfer market, and the Madrid club are reportedly considering a serious attempt to bring him to the Santiago Bernabéu.
The key issue concerns Haaland's contract. People close to the striker reportedly believe that a release clause could create a path for him to move to the Spanish giants. Manchester City, however, strongly dispute that version and insist that no such mechanism exists in the Norwegian's agreement.
That detail could determine how realistic Madrid's plan becomes. Haaland signed a new long-term contract with Manchester City in January 2025 that runs until the summer of 2034. If City's position regarding the absence of a release clause is correct, any potential transfer would require negotiations with the English club.
For now, there is no agreement over Haaland's departure and the striker remains a Manchester City player. It is worth noting that the Norwegian scored twice against Porto on September 8 as City won 2-0, taking his remarkable Champions League record to 59 goals in 59 appearances.
Reminder: Transfer bombshell! Haaland to leave Man City after the season? Where will he go?
