WAFCON 2026: Monique Ngock named Woman of the Match following Cameroon’s victory over Ghana
The Cameroonian midfielder was recognised for her performance during this clash at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca.
Cameroon pulled off a fine result against Ghana on 2 August during the second matchday of the group stage of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations currently being held in Morocco. The Indomitable Lionesses secured a fine 1-0 victory to guarantee their place in the quarter-finals.
Marie Gisele Ngah Manga scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot. However, Monique Ngock particularly stood out in the Cameroonian team’s midfield.
The 21-year-old played a key role in her team’s success. In recognition of her performance, Monique Ngock was named Woman of the Match following the clash between Cameroon and Ghana.
Cameroon’s women’s national team now have six points in Group D and have qualified for the knockout stages of the tournament.
