WAFCON 2026: Marie Gisele Ngah Manga named Woman of the Match following Cameroon’s victory over Mali

The Cameroonian striker was recognised for her performance during this Group D fixture.

Cameroon’s women’s national team put in a strong performance against Mali in their opening group stage match at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is taking place in Morocco. The Indomitable Lionesses won 2–1 on Wednesday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium.

The Cameroonian side’s victory was partly down to Marie Gisele Ngah Manga. The 23-year-old striker secured the win for her team with a brace.

Marie Gisele Ngah Manga first opened the scoring in the 14th minute for the Indomitable Lionesses before converting a penalty in the 73rd minute to secure Cameroon’s 2-1 victory over Mali.

It was in recognition of this performance that Marie Gisele Ngah Manga was awarded the Woman of the Match award at the end of the match.
