Chelsea could lose their midfielder for the second leg against PSG.
Details: Today it was revealed that UEFA's governing body has officially opened disciplinary proceedings regarding the incident that occurred during yesterday's Champions League Round of 16 match between PSG and Chelsea, involving the London side's winger Pedro Neto and a local ball boy.
In one episode, the ball boy held onto the ball and refused to give it to Pedro Neto, prompting the Portuguese winger to respond with a forceful shove that sent the youngster tumbling onto the pitch.
"Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Chelsea player Pedro Lomba Neto for unsporting behaviour in accordance with Article 15(1)(a)(v) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations. UEFA's disciplinary bodies will announce their decision as soon as possible," UEFA's official statement read.
Pedro Neto has already apologized to the young ball boy and gifted him his match shirt after the game:
I gave him my shirt. I'm really sorry, I feel like I owe him an apology. My French isn't very good, so (Portugal teammate) Vitinha went over and explained to him that I'm not like that. In the end, the ball boy laughed, I gave him my shirt and apologized about 35 times. He understood what happened and was happy with how it turned out," said the Portuguese international.
All those emotions did nothing to help the Blues, as Chelsea fell to PSG 5-2 at the Parc des Princes.
The return leg between Chelsea and PSG will take place on March 17 at Stamford Bridge.
