Former Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku could be on the verge of a sensational return to RB Leipzig. According to German insider Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga side is in talks with Milan over a one-year loan deal for the French forward, with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Nkunku made the move to Chelsea after a dazzling spell at Leipzig, where he truly unlocked his potential and became one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers. However, his switch to the London club fell well short of expectations. An injury suffered at the start of his debut season with the Blues severely impacted Nkunku’s career. He never managed to recapture his best form and, after a disappointing stint in England, found himself at Milan.

Now, the 28-year-old could be set for a remarkable comeback. Leipzig are hopeful of bringing Nkunku back, but negotiations are still ongoing and the financial details of a potential deal remain undisclosed.

For the Frenchman, a return to the club where he achieved the best results of his career could provide the spark to reignite his trajectory and once again feel like a key player. After several challenging years, Nkunku now has the opportunity to go back to where his meteoric rise first began.
