Five options for Maresca. Manchester City preparing bid for World Cup winner
Manchester City has identified five candidates to bolster their midfield and is ready to make an offer for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández. According to GiveMeSport, the English club plans to sign at least two more players before the transfer window closes.
The main target remains 18-year-old Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, but the coaching staff is eager to bring in another midfielder as well. Enzo Fernández has once again emerged as one of the priority options. Chelsea previously valued the Argentine at £120 million, but it remains unclear what sum City is prepared to offer now.
In addition to Fernández, City’s shortlist includes Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), and Manu Koné (Roma). Now the club faces a crucial decision on whom to target in the final days of the transfer window.
It’s worth recalling that this summer, the Citizens have already seen Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Tijjani Reijnders depart, with Nico González potentially following suit—negotiations with Newcastle are ongoing. Against this backdrop, the club’s management is actively searching for options to strengthen the midfield.
