Barcelona turned down as Chelsea star considers only two options
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández is not interested in a move to Barcelona, despite the Catalan club’s clear interest. According to journalist Simon Phillips, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco reached out to Chelsea last week to explore the possibility of signing the Argentine.
However, Fernández’s camp has all but ruled out a switch to Camp Nou. The source claims the 25-year-old midfielder is only considering two destinations—Manchester City or Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Fernández’s future at Chelsea remains up in the air. His agent is still in talks with Manchester City, who could push to finalize the deal before the summer transfer window closes. It’s entirely possible that the situation will be resolved in the final days.
The biggest ongoing saga right now is the Enzo Fernández saga. I expect to see him in the squad on Monday night, but his future could be decided at the very last moment, said Phillips.
Barcelona’s interest in the Argentine comes as a surprise, especially considering their recent signing of Rodri from Manchester City. What’s more, a Fernández transfer would prove extremely costly for the Catalans.
