It's all because of the haircut! Fans demand Haaland to grow his hair back immediately
Erling Haaland failed to find the net in Manchester City's Premier League opener against Bournemouth, and City fans have already come up with an unusual explanation for his lack of luck. On the eve of the match, the Norwegian striker surprised everyone with a new haircut, getting rid of his iconic long locks.
At the Etihad, Haaland started the match and put in a solid performance. The Norwegian's stats speak for themselves: 0 goals, 5 shots, 1 big chance missed, 26 touches, and 3 recoveries. The forward also won both of his ground duels.
The Citizens still managed to snatch a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Marc Guéhi and Joško Gvardiol. However, with Haaland failing to contribute on the scoresheet, his performance was far from flawless.
After the final whistle, fans took to social media to joke about Haaland’s goalless game, linking it to his new look. One supporter even compared Haaland to Rapunzel, claiming he lost his magic along with his hair. Others urged the striker to bring back his old style as soon as possible.
The jokes gained extra traction after Haaland himself once shared a piece of advice from Zlatan Ibrahimović. According to the Norwegian, the legendary Swede had warned him: “Never cut your hair, because the power is in the hair.”
Now, City fans can only wonder if Haaland really has lost his 'superpower.' He’ll get a chance to test that theory in the next round—and, at the same time, try to open his goal tally for the new season.
