Le Havre vs Monaco: Who can make the better start to the new Ligue 1 season?
On Sunday, August 23, the opening matches of the new Ligue 1 season will take place, with Le Havre facing Monaco in one of them. The match will kick off at 17:15 CET, and I have a betting tip for you.
Le Havre vs Monaco: Match preview
Le Havre finished 14th in Ligue 1 last season and came close to the relegation zone. The team battled for survival throughout the campaign and ultimately managed to retain their place in France's top flight. However, the margin was not particularly comfortable, as Le Havre collected 35 points, while Nice had 32. It is clear that the situation is unlikely to change much this season, with Le Havre once again expected to fight for survival and try to remain in Ligue 1. Before the season, they played six friendlies, winning two, losing three and drawing one.
Monaco have already begun their competitive season, playing their first official match a few days ago. They travelled to Poland for a UEFA Conference League qualifying match and managed to secure a difficult but extremely important 3-2 victory. They now have a Ligue 1 match before returning home for a game against Górnik Zabrze. As for last season, their results were not particularly impressive and were rather mediocre. Monaco finished seventh with 54 points and are now attempting to qualify for the Conference League. By the way, they also played six friendlies before the season, winning three of them.

Prediction
Both teams will clearly be looking to win their opening match of the season, but I think Monaco have the better chance of doing so, as they are in better competitive shape and have the stronger squad. My betting tip is for a Monaco win.
