Here we go! World Cup 2026 hero goalkeeper set to join Lille
Lille have found a new man to protect their goal.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Lille have reached an agreement with San Lorenzo for Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill. The French club will reportedly pay €3.6 million for the 26-year-old, while the agreement also includes a 50% sell-on clause.

Gill has already agreed personal terms with Lille, so the transfer is now moving toward completion. In France, the Paraguayan international will work under Davide Ancelotti, who was officially appointed Lille head coach this summer.
The goalkeeper became one of Paraguay's standout performers at the 2026 World Cup. His biggest moment came in the Round of 32 against Germany, when Gill saved penalties from Kai Havertz and Nick Woltemade and helped his national team eliminate the European giants in a shootout.
It's worth noting that San Lorenzo described Gill as the goalkeeper with the most saves at the 2026 World Cup after his return from the tournament. Transfermarkt currently values the Paraguayan shot-stopper at €6 million.
