The most patient transfer saga in London has finally reached its happy ending.

Details: Fabrizio Romano has given his here we go: RC Strasbourg have agreed a deal to sign Deivid Washington from Chelsea on a permanent move, with the striker arriving today. The 21-year-old Brazilian leaves Stamford Bridge after three years at the club.

This is the second time these clubs have agreed this exact transfer: in August 2024 Strasbourg had a €21 million deal in place, but it collapsed at the finish line because both clubs belong to the BlueCo ownership group, raising regulatory questions. Two years later, the move has finally been revived and completed.

Washington arrived at Chelsea from Santos in 2023 for €16 million as one of Brazil's brightest prospects, but never broke through, playing just 25 minutes of first-team football in three years and spending time back on loan at Santos. It's worth noting that his market value has dropped to just €3 million, making this fresh start in Ligue 1 crucial for a career that once promised so much.

Reminder: Urgent! Chelsea leader set to extend his contract with the club.
