Urgent! Chelsea leader set to extend his contract with the club
Chelsea are making sure one of their biggest attacking weapons stays at Stamford Bridge for years to come.
Details: According to Sky Sports, Brazilian forward Joao Pedro is set to sign a new six-year contract with Chelsea. The final terms of the agreement are being completed, with the deal expected to run until at least 2032 and include an option for the London club to extend it for a further season.
The new agreement underlines Joao Pedro's importance to Chelsea after an excellent first full campaign in London. The Brazilian quickly became one of the key figures in the Blues' attack and established himself as a regular source of goals.
Chelsea's official statistics show that Joao Pedro finished the 2025/26 season with 50 appearances in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing six assists. His performances also earned him the club's Men's Player of the Season award, with the forward receiving more than 60 per cent of the supporters' vote.
The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Brighton in July 2025 and immediately made an impact, including three goals during the Blues' successful FIFA Club World Cup campaign. With his long-term future now being secured, Chelsea are clearly counting on the Brazilian to remain one of the central figures in their attacking line.
