Chelsea FC have officially announced the contract extension of 24-year-old Brazilian forward João Pedro. The new long-term agreement will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2034.

Details: The London club significantly increased the player's salary, effectively warding off concrete interest from Barcelona and Arsenal, who were both prepared to offer over €100 million for the striker. In addition to improved financial terms and the extended contract, João Pedro will also change his shirt number: starting next season, the Brazilian will wear number 9, previously worn by Liam Delap.

In his debut season after joining from Brighton, the Brazilian became a key figure in Chelsea's attack: he scored 20 goals and provided 6 assists across all competitions, winning the FIFA Club World Cup and being named Chelsea Fans' Player of the Season.
