In a La Liga fixture, Real Madrid traveled to Espanyol and suffered a 0-1 defeat. The Blancos were left dissatisfied with the officiating and have decided to take action by lodging a formal complaint with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Details: On their official website, Real Madrid announced that they have submitted an official complaint to the RFEF and the Higher Sports Council over alleged refereeing errors in the match against Espanyol. The club is demanding the immediate release of VAR audio recordings.
Statement: "Given the seriousness of the situation, Real Madrid demands that the RFEF immediately release the VAR audio recordings related to two key incidents in the match:
- The communication between VAR and the on-field referee regarding Carlos Romero’s challenge on Kylian Mbappé.
- The discussion between VAR and the referee during the disallowed goal scored by Vinícius Júnior.
- The conversations among VAR room officials concerning both incidents."
Reminder: During the same match, Real Madrid suffered another setback as key defender Antonio Rüdiger was forced off the field early due to injury.
