“No one was better than me!” — Mbappé sends bold Ballon d'Or message

Kylian Mbappé is making no secret of how highly he rates his own season.

Details: Speaking to L'Équipe about his chances of winning the 2026 Ballon d'Or, the Real Madrid forward delivered a remarkably confident assessment of his campaign. Mbappé insisted that, in his view, none of his rivals produced a stronger season and made it clear that he considers himself a genuine contender for the prestigious individual award.

“There isn't a single player who had a better season than me. I believe I have chances,” Mbappé told L'Équipe.

The French superstar has repeatedly spoken about the Ballon d'Or in recent days. Earlier this week, Mbappé also stressed that winning the Champions League with Real Madrid would mean even more to him than collecting the individual prize, although he did not hide his ambition to fight for both.

Mbappé has already started the new Champions League campaign with another milestone. He scored in Real Madrid's 2-1 victory over Inter at the Santiago Bernabéu, taking his career tally in the competition to 71 goals and drawing level with Raúl González in fifth place on the tournament's all-time scoring list. The Frenchman is also among the nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
