Japanese footballer Junya Ito is seeking financial compensation from the women who accused him of sexual violence, as reported by The Times Japan.

On Monday, February 19, the player's side filed a lawsuit and demanded €1.2 million (202 million yen) from the women who accused him. Ito claims that two women made false accusations by filing a criminal complaint with the police. As a result, sponsors terminated contracts with the player, leading to financial losses for Ito.

"What the women did was very malicious, filing a complaint during the Asian Cup to hinder Ito," said one of Ito's lawyers.

It's worth noting that Junya Ito, a player for the Japanese national team, decided to leave the national team. This decision came after he was accused of sexual violence. Therefore, the player decided to leave the national team during the Asian Cup.

Last year, two women accused Junya Ito of subjecting them to sexual violence. In June 2023, after a match of the Japanese national team against Peru in a hotel in Osaka, he engaged in sexual relations with women who were intoxicated.
