It has been revealed which coach will replace Xavi at Barcelona

This morning, Barcelona's leadership made a highly unexpected decision to dismiss head coach Xavi, despite a prior agreement that he would stay.

It has already been announced who will replace Xavi in his position. According to Miguel Rico, the favorite for this role is Barcelona B's head coach, Rafael Marquez.

The club is very pleased with how the young footballers are developing under Marquez's guidance. Considering that Barcelona's core is currently made up of La Masia graduates, Marquez's ability to work with them could be a key factor.

To recall, Barcelona's leadership was angered by Xavi's remarks about the club's difficult financial situation, which he said would prevent the team from competing for trophies next season. Joan Laporta considered himself betrayed after Xavi's statement and decided to part ways with him.

In late January, after a defeat to Villarreal (3-5), Xavi announced at a press conference that he would leave the team after the season ends. However, after a series of positive results, the club's leadership managed to persuade him to at least revise his contract, which expires in the summer of 2025. They announced this at a special press conference.

Yesterday, Barcelona defeated Almeria (2-0) in the 36th round of La Liga. With 79 points, they are in second place, ahead of Girona by 4 points.
