Contract signed. The Premier League legend started his coaching career at the Eredivisie club

The legend of Manchester United, Arsenal, Feyenoord, and the Dutch national team, Robin van Persie, has embarked on his managerial career at the senior level.

The former striker has officially become the new head coach of Eredivisie club Heerenveen. The details of van Persie's contract with the club have not been disclosed.

Van Persie replaces Kees van Wonderen, who has been managing Heerenveen since the summer of 2022.

Previously, van Persie coached Feyenoord U-18. Before that, he worked on the coaching staff of Arne Slot, with whom they won the Eredivisie in the 2022/23 season.

After 33 rounds of Eredivisie, Heerenveen occupies the tenth position with 37 points. They can no longer move up in the standings in the final round.
