Details: Today it was announced that before the start of the 18th round Premier League clash between Liverpool and Wolverhampton, the two sons of former player Diogo Jota, who represented both clubs, will accompany the match mascots onto the pitch.
Dinis and Duarte Jota will have the chance to honor their father's legacy by leading the mascots out in a fixture featuring the two teams their dad once starred for.
This will be the first meeting between Liverpool and Wolverhampton since Diogo Jota's tragic passing.
Diogo Jota died on July 3, 2025, in a horrific car accident alongside his brother Andre.
In 2018, Diogo Jota moved to Wolverhampton from Atletico Madrid for €14 million. He made 131 appearances for Wolves, scoring 44 goals and providing 19 assists.
Then, in September 2020, Jota became a Liverpool player, with the Reds paying Wolves €45 million for the transfer. During his time with the Merseysiders, Jota played 182 matches, netting 65 goals and delivering 26 assists.
The Liverpool vs Wolverhampton match is set to take place on December 27 at Anfield.
