Crystal Palace forward Eddie Nketiah could soon switch his international allegiance and begin representing Ghana. According to Standard Sport, representatives of the African nation have taken a new step to convince the striker to choose the Black Stars. The necessary documents are already being prepared for submission to FIFA.

Nketiah remains eligible to switch national teams because he has made just one appearance for England's senior side, in a friendly. At youth level, the 27-year-old represented England at U18, U19, U20 and U21 level. Nketiah is currently considering his options, and no final decision has yet been made about his international future.

The forward was born in London to a Ghanaian family and came through Chelsea's academy before joining Arsenal's system in 2015. Nketiah made more than 160 appearances for the London club's first team, scoring 38 goals and providing six assists in all competitions. He also spent time on loan at Leeds, making 19 appearances and scoring five goals.
