Roger Milla’s legendary World Cup record
The oldest goalscorer in the competition’s history
The former Cameroonian international made his mark on the competition’s history in a unique way.
It is impossible to talk about World Cup legends without mentioning Roger Milla. The former Indomitable Lion left his mark on the World Cup in 1994.
Whilst footballers of his age had already hung up their boots, the Cameroonian continued to defy the laws of time to make history. Aged 42, Roger Milla found the back of the net against Russia at the World Cup.
A goal that is more than just a statistic. It made Milla the oldest goalscorer in the history of the World Cup. A record he still holds to this day. He therefore remains the only player over the age of 40 to have found the back of the net in this competition.
