FIFA president Gianni Infantino has put forward a bold concept for a global U-15 youth tournament.

Details: According to de Telegraaf, the project was modeled after the American Little League World Series in baseball. The tournament was to feature grand opening ceremonies at Disneyland, with the inaugural match intended as a symbolic clash between teams from Israel and Palestine. The initiative attracted private investors from the United States, and all 211 FIFA member associations were expected to take part.

Insiders report that the idea of an Israel-Palestine opening match was ultimately scrapped due to heightened tensions and conflicts between the football federations of the two nations. The commercial project itself was shelved ahead of the senior World Cup, with the focus shifting to more traditional regional youth festivals.
