An international friendly match between Ivory Coast and Cameroon is on the cards
The Ivorian Football Federation and the Cameroonian Football Federation are reported to have begun discussions with a view to organising a match.
The Elephants and the Indomitable Lionesses could meet again following their last encounter (1–1) in the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. But this time, it would be a friendly match.
According to reports, this fixture is expected to take place in Abidjan next October. The match will be played at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé, and promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of African football’s leading nations. The fixture is expected to be scheduled after the first two matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
For both teams, this fixture would provide an opportunity to test themselves against a top-class opponent and continue their preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Should the talks come to fruition, the Ivorian public could look forward to witnessing a friendly clash in October between the Elephants and the Indomitable Lions, two sides accustomed to major showdowns on the international stage.
