The Congolese-born defender is set to join the Italian club on a season-long loan with a non-binding option to buy.

Willy Kambwala is gradually making his way to Italy’s Serie A. Como are making progress in their efforts to secure the services of the defender, who is under contract with Villarreal until 2029.

According to transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, the Italian Serie A side have reached an agreement for the transfer of Willy Kambwala. The verbal agreement provides for a one-season loan with a non-binding option to buy.

Should Como decide to keep the Congolese-born player at the end of his loan spell, they would have to pay €10 million to Villarreal. If the talks are officially concluded, Willy Kambwala is set to play in the Italian league this season. The former Manchester United player is set to leave Villarreal two seasons after his arrival.

Willy Kambwala is thus set to experience Serie A after the Premier League and La Liga.
