Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana could be heading back to Inter Milan as early as this summer.
Details: According to the Daily Mail, the Cameroonian shot-stopper's agents held a meeting in Milan this week to discuss the possibility of a permanent transfer.
Currently, the 29-year-old is on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor after losing his starting spot at Old Trafford to Belgian keeper Senne Lammens. His impressive performances in Turkey have convinced Inter's management to consider bringing the Cameroonian goalkeeper back to Milan.
Despite being under contract with Manchester United, it is expected that the English club will part ways with Onana at the end of the season. The player himself is keen on returning to Italy, where he still owns property.
The main stumbling block could be financial: Onana's high wages might become an obstacle to the deal. It's possible Manchester United will have to pay a compensation fee to facilitate his final departure.
Reminder: Cole Palmer is genuinely interested in a move to Manchester United, but Chelsea are demanding a record fee.
