UEFA believes the incident warrants a thorough review, raising concerns about player safety during matches and adherence to regulations regarding the placement and security of advertising structures around the field.
At present, it remains unclear what sanctions Liverpool could face if the club is found culpable, but fortunately, Noah Lang has already undergone surgery and was able to save his finger.
Liverpool officials have also confirmed that they are conducting an internal investigation and reviewing all circumstances of the incident, while expressing their full support for Noah Lang.
