WAFU B U20: Burkina Faso joins Nigeria in the final
The U20 Stallions beat Niger 2–0 to reach the final of the tournament being held in Ivory Coast.
The two finalists of the 2026 WAFU B U20 tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, have now been decided. Burkina Faso have joined Nigeria in the final following their 2-0 victory over Niger.
In the semi-final, the U20 Stallions secured their place in the final in a match that remained a nail-biter right to the end at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium. The two teams fought a fierce battle without scoring a single goal in normal time.
It took extra time before Burkina Faso was finally able to break the deadlock. It was during this decisive period that the U20 Stallions found a way through to snatch victory. They won 2-0 in extra time.
Burkina Faso have thus qualified for the final of the WAFU B U20 tournament. The U20 Stallions will face Nigeria’s Flying Eagles in the final, who secured their place earlier by eliminating Ivory Coast.
