Manchester United are in the market for an experienced goalkeeper.
Details: Manchester United are exploring options to bolster their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season and have turned their attention to Leeds United’s seasoned shot-stopper Karl Darlow.
According to The Athletic, the 35-year-old keeper could become a free agent at the end of June, as his current contract with Leeds is set to expire. The Red Devils’ management see Darlow as a strong candidate for the backup goalkeeper role, someone who can provide reliable cover over a long campaign.
Despite United’s interest, Leeds are not ready to let their experienced keeper go without a fight and are preparing a new contract offer for Darlow.
A final decision regarding the No. 2 goalkeeper spot at Old Trafford is expected in the coming weeks, as the club finalizes its transfer plans for the summer window.
This season, Darlow has featured in 24 matches for Leeds, conceding 29 goals and keeping 4 clean sheets.
His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €200,000.
