French striker Anthony Martial has ended his spell at Mexican side Monterrey. Both parties have reached an agreement for an early termination of his contract, which was originally set to run until June 2027.
According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, the 30-year-old forward has now obtained free agent status and has already started searching for a new club to continue his career. The official reasons behind the split have not yet been disclosed. In recent weeks, Martial was barely seen on the pitch: the striker missed the team's last five matches and, before that, only came on as a substitute.
It's worth noting that throughout the season, the former Manchester United forward also struggled with fitness issues, forcing him to miss another six games. Overall, Martial made 20 appearances in all competitions for Monterrey, scoring just one goal and providing three assists.
