Raheem Sterling is in serious legal trouble that could cost him his freedom.

Details: According to The Sun, the 31-year-old English winger, Raheem Sterling, has been officially charged with dangerous driving, unlawful possession of nitrous oxide for inhalation, and refusing to provide a specimen for analysis following a crash on the M3 motorway involving his £270,000 Lamborghini sports car.

Reports say eyewitnesses called emergency services after spotting Sterling's car swerving violently across the lanes before smashing into a roadside barrier. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and both the footballer and bystanders escaped without injury.

Sterling is set to appear in court on September 15. If found guilty of dangerous driving, the player faces up to two years in prison.

It's worth noting that the 31-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Dutch club Feyenoord ended last season. Previously, Sterling starred for Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea, and also had a loan spell at Arsenal. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €3 million.
