Oliver Glasner is getting the forward he dreamed of for his new project.

Details: Renowned insider Fabrizio Romano has given his famous here we go: Nottingham Forest have reached a verbal agreement to sign Liam Delap from Chelsea. The fee is around £45 million, as John Percy of The Telegraph reported, with a medical already booked and Forest ready to proceed with formal steps. Delap said yes to the Forest project after speaking to Oliver Glasner.

The 23-year-old striker has fallen completely out of favour at Stamford Bridge: he has been training away from Xabi Alonso's first team and was left out of the squad for the match against Fulham. Delap joined the Blues from Ipswich for £30 million just last summer, but managed only 1 goal in 28 Premier League appearances. Forest wanted the forward back then too, while this time Leeds and Everton also entered the race, but the decisive factor was a personal conversation with Glasner.

For Forest, who are building an ambitious team under the Austrian coach, this is one of the loudest signings of the window. It's worth noting that Transfermarkt values Delap at €28 million, so Forest will pay noticeably above the market estimate, and his contract with Chelsea was running until the summer of 2031.

Reminder: No loans, only cash! Chelsea set strict terms as Jackson's exit enters key days.
