Details: During yesterday's Premier League Matchweek 21 clash between London’s Arsenal and Liverpool, in the dying moments of the game, Liverpool defender Conor Bradley suffered a serious injury that forced him to leave the pitch on a stretcher. However, Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli initially believed Bradley was faking, and in frustration, threw the ball at the writhing Bradley before attempting to push him off the field entirely.
After the match, Martinelli realized his mistake upon seeing the replay, which showed that Bradley’s injury was genuine and quite severe. The Brazilian then reached out to Bradley with a personal message to apologize, and later issued a public apology to fans by posting a story on his Instagram page:
"Conor and I have messaged, and I’ve already apologized to him. In the heat of the moment, I genuinely didn’t realize he was seriously injured. I want to say I deeply regret my reaction. Once again, I wish Conor all the best and a speedy recovery," wrote Martinelli.
The match itself ended in a goalless 0-0 draw, with neither side able to break the deadlock. After 21 rounds, Arsenal sit atop the Premier League with 49 points, while Liverpool are in fourth place with 35 points.
Reminder: Liverpool's streak snapped! Arsenal keep a clean sheet against Liverpool in the Premier League for the first time since 2015
