Manchester United legend and renowned football pundit Gary Neville admitted that he could not make sense of the incident involving Erling Haaland's only goal in the Manchester derby. Manchester City won 1-0 at the home of the Red Devils, but the goal sparked plenty of controversy.
Haaland found the net after a controversial incident that left many questioning the Norwegian's position. VAR reviewed the moment and confirmed that the goal was scored legitimately. It turned out that Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu's foot had kept Haaland onside.
However, even after the explanation, the situation remained unclear to Neville, who now works as a television pundit.
"I'm going to need the offside rule explained to me because it's lost me", said the former United defender.
It is worth remembering that Gary Neville is one of the biggest legends in the history of the Manchester club. After ending his playing career, he tried his hand at coaching, but the experience proved unsuccessful. In the 2015/16 season, the Englishman took charge of Valencia, but was sacked in March 2016 following a run of poor results.
