Lisandro Martínez is furious with the VAR decision! What’s the problem?

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martínez expressed outrage over the VAR decision to allow Erling Haaland's 60th-minute winning goal in the derby against Manchester City (0–1).

Details: The Argentine defender is convinced the goal should have been disallowed, arguing that City midfielder Enzo Fernández, who was in an offside position, distracted him and disoriented the defensive line, leaving Haaland unmarked at the back post. In a post-match interview, Martínez stated:

"It’s more than clear, absolutely everyone saw it. Haaland's goal was directly influenced by that moment because I went to cover Fernández, which left Erling all alone. In the best league in the world with dozens of cameras, five or six people in a VAR room are making the calls and they keep committing errors like this — it's simply unbelievable and unacceptable. We are being robbed of three points in a derby because of injustice."

Match referee Michael Oliver initially disallowed the goal for offside, but following VAR intervention, the goal was awarded as the video officials deemed Fernández had not touched the ball. The PGMOL refereeing body later officially acknowledged the VAR officials' mistake, issuing a formal apology to Manchester United for the incorrectly awarded goal.
