Hansi Flick has saved his biggest surprise for the very center of Barcelona's attack.

Details: Barcelona have confirmed their starting XI for the Champions League away clash with Galatasaray, and Dani Olmo has been chosen to lead the attack. The Spain international, who operated as a No. 10 against Getafe in the previous match, has been pushed further forward and will start as a false nine. Gabriel Jesus drops to the bench, while Anthony Gordon and Lamine Yamal retain their places on the flanks.

Flick has also brought Fermín López into the side, with the midfielder expected to occupy the advanced position behind Olmo. Pedri returns to the starting lineup alongside Rodri, giving Barcelona a technically strong midfield for the test at RAMS Park.

  • João Cancelo

  • Anthony Gordon

There are changes in defence as well. Pau Cubarsí and João Cancelo return to the XI, Eric Garcia moves to right-back and Gerard Martin continues in central defence. Joan Garcia keeps his place in goal. The main tactical intrigue, however, remains Olmo's positioning at the tip of the attack, with Fermín operating underneath him.

It is worth noting that Barcelona have won all nine of their competitive matches at the start of the 2026/27 season. According to the club, victory in Istanbul would make it ten consecutive wins in all competitions from the beginning of the campaign and set a new club record.

Reminder: Bad news for Barcelona! Will Raphinha play in the next match?
