Records shattered! Como and Douvikas rewrite Champions League history in historic Lens demolition
Como have produced one of the most extraordinary results in Champions League history, leaving several records shattered.
Details: On November 4, Cesc Fàbregas' side demolished Lens 9-1 away from home in the fourth round of the Champions League league phase. The result became the heaviest defeat in the French club's history and also the biggest loss ever suffered by a French team in the competition.

Moreover, Como equalled the Champions League record for the largest winning margin. Their eight-goal advantage matches Liverpool's 8-0 victory over Besiktas in 2007 and Real Madrid's identical triumph against Malmö in 2015. Remarkably, Como became the first team to achieve such a margin away from home.
Anastasios Douvikas also made history. The Greek striker completed a hat-trick with goals in the 7th, 32nd and 57th minutes, becoming only the third Greek footballer to score three times in a Champions League match. Previously, this feat had been achieved by Kostas Mitroglou in 2013 and Vangelis Pavlidis in 2025.
The hat-trick also propelled Douvikas to the top of the 2026/27 Champions League scoring charts with six goals in four appearances. The Como forward has now scored in all four of his matches in the competition this season, against RB Leipzig, Feyenoord, Manchester United and Lens.
It's worth noting that Como are competing in the Champions League for the first time in their history. Before this spectacular victory, Fàbregas' team had already beaten RB Leipzig and Manchester United by identical 4-1 scorelines.
