Barcelona have rewritten Champions League history, but this is one record they would rather forget.

Details: The Catalan giants have established an unwanted club record by failing to keep a clean sheet in 17 consecutive Champions League matches. The remarkable streak was extended during their October 13 clash against Galatasaray in Istanbul, when Aleksei Batrakov opened the scoring in the 28th minute. This is now the longest run of its kind in Barcelona's history in Europe's most prestigious club competition.

Before the match against Galatasaray, UEFA had already highlighted Barcelona's worrying defensive record, noting that the Catalans had conceded in 16 consecutive Champions League games.

Even convincing victories have not helped Barcelona end this disastrous streak. In their opening Champions League match of the 2026/27 season, Hansi Flick's side demolished Feyenoord 5-1 but still failed to keep their goal intact.

João Cancelo equalized against Galatasaray before halftime, but that could not change the historical statistic. Regardless of the final result, Barcelona had already extended their unwanted record.

It is worth noting that Barcelona last kept a clean sheet in the Champions League on April 9, 2025, when they defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0. According to UEFA, the Catalans' previous 31 matches in the competition produced a staggering 141 goals between both teams, averaging 4.55 goals per game.

Reminder: Bad news for Barcelona! Will Raphinha play in the next match?
