Kylian Mbappé has reached a remarkable European milestone, and only Lionel Messi managed it faster! The Real Madrid forward's goal against AEK Athens carried him into an exclusive group of Champions League greats.

Details: According to Opta Analyst, Mbappé registered his 100th goal involvement in the Champions League during Madrid's 3:2 victory over AEK on November 4. It took the 27-year-old just 102 appearances to reach the landmark. His record now stands at 74 goals and 26 assists in the competition.

Mbappé struck in the 78th minute in Athens, making it 2:2 after the hosts had twice taken the lead. Jude Bellingham had scored Madrid's first equaliser, before Federico Valverde completed the comeback with a dramatic winner in the second minute of stoppage time. That late goal secured all three points for José Mourinho's side.

The comparison with European legends puts the achievement into perspective. Messi reached 100 combined goals and assists after 101 matches, just one fewer than Mbappé. Robert Lewandowski also needed 102, while Cristiano Ronaldo reached the mark in 114 appearances and Karim Benzema in 134, according to the Opta ranking. The Frenchman therefore shares second place for speed.

It's worth noting that Mbappé has now scored in six consecutive Champions League appearances, equalling his longest personal scoring run in the tournament. Madrid have also won all four of their league phase matches this season, collecting 12 points from a possible 12.
